Why do you need to FAST?

First of all, I want to tell you that I have been researching different diet regimens and their impact on health for a long time. I don’t think there’s anything better than regular fasting. Personally, I have been practicing regular fasting for many years and have never felt better. I have been working with patients for twenty-five years and I have been convinced countless times of the effectiveness of fasting in people who, on my recommendation, started practicing it and significantly improved their health. Fasting, as a dietregimen practiced for thousands of years, brings numerous health benefits. However, despite its history, fasting has almost disappeared from our everyday life in recent decades. Instead, the industrialization of food and aggressive marketing campaigns aimed at consuming more meals per day have led to the proliferation of unhealthy eating habits. As a result, we are facing an increase in various diseases associated with poor lifestyle and diet.

In the second half of the 20th century. In the 19th century, the food industry embarked on a transformation of the way we eat. Instead of the traditional three meals a day, we have become exposed to constant stimulation by food advertisements and fast food offers. Marketing campaigns encourage us to eat as many meals a day as possible, to consume very bad foods that significantly impair our health. Therefore, I would ask you to take some time to look at what you eat every day and why most of the time you eat foods that worsen your health. I am sure that you will come to very interesting conclusions.

It is important to emphasize that in the last thirty to forty years, the number of obese people has increased significantly, as well as the fact that today we mostly die from heart diseases (high blood pressure, blood clots…), brain diseases (stroke, dementia…) and tumors (lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer…), lung, liver, kidney diseases… and other various diseases… In 2023. A total of 60,760,150 people died in the world. Of this group, 32,662,050 were men and 28,098,100 were women. The country with the highest number of deaths was China, with a total of 10,705,689 deaths in a year. It is followed by India with 9,368,327 deaths and the United States with 2,912,402 deaths recorded. The geographical region with the highest number of deaths was Asia with a total of 32,905,275 deaths in a year. It is closely followed by Africa with 11,673,214 deaths and Europe with 8,255,083 deaths recorded in a year. When divided into sub-regions, we can see that East Asia had the highest number of deaths of 13,143,178 people. It is followed by South Asia with 12,966,257 deaths and Southeast Asia with 4,840,030 deaths recorded.

Fifty or sixty years ago, these diseases were not nearly as dangerous, and today they are our greatest threat. Diabetes, high blood pressure, overweight, excessive consumption of drugs most often lead to heart attack, stroke, dementia or some form of cancer. And all this starts with our diet. The world’s major food production industries have become leading players in shaping our eating habits. Their marketing strategies and huge financial resources are focused on creating a need for fast and unhealthy food. Mass production of food full of additives, sugar, salt and saturated fats, has become the norm in modern society. We have to ask ourselves whether it is important for these large companies to eat less or more. Do they stimulate our health or do they produce foods loaded with hormones, antibiotics, preservatives, artificial colors, flavor enhancers and many other ingredients that are found in our daily diet, without us even realizing them?

Regular fasting from food is very bad for large food industries because it means much less profit. If we look closely into the past, fasting was something that should not have been talked about. Authorities in the world of nutrition have told us for decades that we should not bypass a single meal of the day. In other words, every day we have to consume breakfast, lunch, dinner and still eat snacks, don’t you agree? I’m sure you’ve heard at least once in your life, and maybe even said, sentences like these: “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!” “You need to eat snacks regularly!” “Eat five to six small meals a day! ” “You should never miss a meal!” With these and similar messages, we are bombarded in the media. On tv, on the internet, in books. If you hear them a hundred or a thousand times, they start to create the illusion that this is something you need to be healthy. All this is very well known to industries that earn billions every year. Unfortunately, if you are healthy, no one will make money…

THE REAL TRUTH IS QUITE DIFFERENT! There is absolutely no study that proves that eating a lot of meals a day is good for our health. On the other hand, thousands of studies have been conducted over the last few decades on the proven benefits of fasting. Fasting has been applied for thousands of years around the world in all civilizations. Daily fasting from food has enormous health benefits. It is efficient, simple, flexible and guarantees success. Today, we are faced with an epidemic of obesity and diseases that are the result of poor eating habits. Obesity has been linked to a number of health problems, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, liver and kidney disease, bone and joint problems, and mental disorders. Also, the consumption of unhealthy foods often results in a lack of important nutrients and fiber, which further worsens our health condition. Modern lifestyle and poor eating habits have led to a significant deterioration in our health. It is necessary to return fasting to our daily lives in order to take advantage of its health benefits. Fasting gives the body the opportunity to recover and regenerate, and protects it from various diseases. In addition, it is necessary to reduce the consumption of fast and unhealthy food and promote awareness of the importance of a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Education about healthy eating and the importance of fasting should be available to everyone in order to create a healthier future for ourselves and our offspring. Fasting is an incredibly simple and effective tool that can positively affect our health and longevity, and I think it’s time for as many people around the world as possible to know this information.
